Extreme Heat Toolkit

As extreme heat continues to pose growing risks to communities across the United States, Climate Mayors is releasing its Extreme Heat Toolkit to support city leaders in protecting residents and strengthening local resilience. Developed in partnership with the Hazelwood Network and Switch 5, and building off of the work of Climate Mayors’ Extreme Heat Cohort led by Mayor Regina Romero and Mayor Daniella Levine Cava–this resource is informed by in-depth research conducted across five metropolitan regions: Arizona, Florida, Oregon, Washington State, and Wisconsin.

This toolkit provides a clearer understanding of how communities experience extreme heat and offer guidance to help mayors strengthen local resilience in the face of rising temperatures.
