Hoboken, NJ
Mayor Emily Jabbour
Hoboken is turning public parks into critical flood infrastructure. Its resiliency parks use rain gardens, trees, bioswales, permeable pavers, and underground detention systems to capture, absorb, store, and slowly release stormwater, easing pressure on the city’s century-old combined sewer system during increasingly intense storms. For residents, that means less flooding, faster recovery, and fewer disruptions to everyday life.
