Jeremy Caron, Energy Policy & Strategic Director
Jeremy Caron is the Energy Policy and Strategy Director of Climate Mayors. He brings over 17 years of service in state and local government, public utility, and the non-profit sector. He leads our clean energy strategy and policy, building strong partnerships with utilities, regulators, and elected officials to help Mayors achieve their climate and energy affordability goals and manage the complexities of data center development pressure and the energy regulatory environment.
Jeremy brings a robust understanding of the energy needs of American communities. Jeremy served as the Program Manager for Transmission and Markets at the Great Plains Institute, and previously, as the Sustainability Manager for the City of Des Moines, where he managed the adoption and implementation of the city’s first climate action and adaptation plan. Jeremy served as Director of Energy Services at the Iowa Municipal Utility Association and was a Sr. Energy and Sustainability Planner for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Jeremy holds a BA in Political Science from the University of New England and an MA in Sustainable Design from Boston Architectural College. He is currently Board Chair for the Iowa Association for Energy Efficiency, a board member with the Polk Clean Energy District, and serves on the Advisory Committee for the Midwest Climate Collaborative. He lives in Des Moines, IA with his family.
