The updated plan sets a path to reach net-zero emissions by 2040 and focuses on key sectors like clean energy, building electrification, transportation, housing, and waste reduction, alongside expanding green space and strengthening water resilience. It also introduces new initiatives such as curbside EV charging and incentives to help residents electrify their homes and reduce energy bills. Developed through extensive community engagement, the plan emphasizes affordability and quality of life, building on the city’s progress in cutting emissions nearly in half since 1990, and was released alongside San Francisco Climate Week, a major event showcasing climate innovation and leadership.
