Eric Garcetti
Ambassador, Global Climate Diplomacy, C40 Cities
Eric Garcetti has spent his career finding solutions to challenges the world hasn't caught up to yet — nowhere more than on climate. As Ambassador for Global Climate Diplomacy for C40 Cities, he leads climate negotiations and action on behalf of the world's cities. As Mayor of Los Angeles, he authored the city's Green New Deal, one of the most ambitious municipal climate plans in American history, and put the nation's largest municipal utility on a path to carbon neutrality.
Garcetti believes real climate progress happens at the intersection — of cities and nations, science and politics, ambition and history. Having grown up in Los Angeles and lived across four continents, he brings a builder's instinct for connection to the fight: between regions, disciplines, and generations. A trained actor, musician, and photographer, he approaches even the largest global challenges with curiosity, humor, and an eye for the story that moves people to act.
