Mayors in PJM grid region call for pathways to protect consumers from high energy rates and accelerate progress on clean energy ahead of FERC PJM Summit

Washington, DC – On July 23, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) will hold a Conference on PJM Governance and Stakeholder Reform. The summit will explore governance and stakeholder processes that impact timely action on PJM operational and market needs, and discuss potential reforms. Earlier this month, the 13-state grid set a new all-time system energy use record of more than 168 gigawatts of demand. As families across the PJM region experience rising utility bills faster than their household budgets can keep up, mayors are speaking up on behalf of more affordable, reliable electricity and a PJM grid system that works for the people it serves.
